Do we deserve anything else????

People around the world are expressing shock and revulsion at the deadly terrorist attacks in Mumbai. But I would like to ask why do you esteemed readers feel that this should not have happened or whats the reason to be in such a shock? Atleast I don't find any reason to be shocked about it at all. With the levels of corruption and immorality prevelent in our beuracracy this was definitely comming also proximity to Pakistan makes us a very easy target.

I have purposefully kept this terse with an intention to have some comments from the readers. Be considerate enough to put some of your thoughts here.

i will partially agree with u for this blog..first of all it has come to shock for many people bcos of the fact that they xpect somthng new..people r more interstd in results..for country like india its practically not possible to stop terrorist attack but yes i consider our men at force should be capable enough to handle those post attack situation effectively.n one more thing which i would like to add here is in previous blog when u say tht u r proud to be indian..then this blog comes as a hyperbole!

"Democracy is the government of the people, by the people, for the people"... This is what Abraham Lincoln had to say about democracy... And it's just so true... I see everyone blaming the politicians for being corrupt, for not standing to what they shoud stand for... I see people blaming IB and other sources of information... How true is this looking at the definition of Democracy? This is what Abbie Hoffman (one of the finest social and political activitist in USA) had to say about democracy... "Democracy is not something you believe in or a place to hang your hat, but it's something you do. You participate. If you stop doing it, democracy crumbles." And this, no doubt, is a better explanation of democracy. Being specific and talking about India, people have misunderstood the definition of democracy.. Democracy is something we do.. If the corruption is the part of Indian democracy, I am a part of the corrupt system.. Democracy is something I participate in.. Had I participated in electing the proper governance for my country, I would not have come across incidents like in Mumbai, A'bad, Jaipur, Nagpur, New Delhi and others.. The problem lies deeply rooted into the system. And guess where the roots are.. In us... In you and in me.. We must be proud be a part of the world's biggest democracy.. But now is the time to wake up and be responsible to the things we need to be as a part of democratic system... Its now upto individuals to select what they want.. I agree to RUTUJA... Hats off to you... this is what every indian needs to do.. Atleast we can try... try to save our freedom, our society, our nation... Or as Hoffman said, If we stop doing it, democracy crumbles.. Time to wake up..

i think now subtle speeches n peace processions wont do....now calling my country secular is not my pride but compulsion! i am very sorry to say but the fact is our country is volatile, unsafe and corrupt..first time in my life i dont feel any proud in calling India as my motherland..We people need to wake up,we want leaders not clowns!

See.. I don not know whether really people around the world were really concerned or not but I know what was the situation in mumbai then..TOTAL SHOCKING!!! for me myself have experienced it.. Apparently any mumbaikar will feel the same even now when again these places are visited. It was indeed shocking as something like Taj and Oberoi were targetted, but at the same time, I will say, the way politicians simply disappeared after this incident, The lethargic nature of the sources etc etc isnt shocking at all!!! Its just tht we LOVE to Live this way..

Its like anyone can invade and kill!! Mumbai train bomb blasts dint open their eyes, or rather not only mumbai, but also other states n cities, and still the 'karbhar' is going at the same pace.. unnoticed n unsaid!!!

Media also cannot be left behind!! A detailed coverage of every aspect wasnt required to be telecast LIVE!!

Corruption still rules and will, until humble and honest people come outta their shells and raise their voice without any fear. Darn!! Nothing can stop it then. Why people fear to go against anything immoral I still fail to understand.
"Chalta hain Chalne do" attitude k saath jeeyenge n same way will die :|

m being harsh here.. but after Mumbai attack, my heart cries out.So many innocent lives would have lived today if somebody from the office would have acted in a proper way at a proper time without blaming anyone. Its sad to say, but on one hand we have good people, and at the same time on the other hand we have doubly wicked ppl!!

I just wish every person understands their responsibility, be it the simplest, like not throwing even a small wrapper on the roads, then and then only Something good can be seen coming. Making big developments, increasing security n blah blah wont help, unless worked with honesty, sincerity and most importantly integrity..

Here nobody can be blamed but WE!!!
